Identifying Patterns
Some patterns are easy to identify: routines, for example, especially the ones you create yourself; habits, for example, especially the ones you would rather be without.
Other patterns are more challenging to identify—but mostly because you do not recognize them as patterns at all...
... until you do.
Is there something in your life that just. keeps. happening?
It could be in any area of your life:
a pattern in your relationships
a pattern in your finances
a pattern in your health
And on the other hand, maybe you have noticed something in your life that just. is. not. happening. No matter how much you would like it to.
This is also a pattern. But here is a twist:
Even though something you would like to happen, is not happening, the pattern is still happening.
There is no such thing as a "not-happening". There are only happenings. There are only patterns.
The good news is: once you identify a pattern, you can change it.
Your Next Step
Set a timer for 20 minutes and reflect on the idea of "pattern".
Write about your reflection in your journal.
When you go deeper into the nature of patterns and begin to see that everything is patterns...
... things can become quite psychedelic.
Which is good. "Psychedelic" simply means "mind-altering".
