Changing Intentions: From ‘therapy’ to music

My deepest intention is to encourage wellness, love, and prosperity for all beings of the Cosmos. This has not changed. However, the way I go about doing that has been rather amorphous and undefined (at least not for a relatively long and consistent phase of time). And now, it is changing again.

I am preparing for a journey to Spain, where I will be studying a program in music production, technology, and innovation at the Valencia campus of Berklee College of Music. For me, knowing my own self more than anyone — aside from higher dimensional beings — possibly could, this does not seem outlandish. Music has always been a big part of my soul, and I have been playing around making music for as long as I have been able. Now, I am about to ‘level up’.

From an outward perspective, and even from my own perspective when I am particularly doubtful of my path, it may seem that I have been all over the place, doing a little bit of this, studying a little bit of that, without ever really putting down some roots and developing a foundation. Yes, I can see this, and feel it too.

However, from a wider perspective, I can see how all of these seemingly disparate subjects I have been studying — philosophy, psychology, meditation and mindfulness, voice acting, hypnosis, and soon music — will all fit together very nicely. And that brings me to my new intentions.

It seems to me that the best thing I can do, for myself and for others, is to combine music, hypnosis, and my overall perspective on Reality, to create guided meditations, hypnosis sessions, and medicinal music and sounds for people to purchase and use on their own. I can see this as being more empowering as well, because the people who want to use these resources to heal, can do so by their own will, and use them whenever they want.

I also have a particular interest in sound, apart from music, and I believe I will be studying that more deeply as well, with the intention of exploring and creating sonic healing modalities.

A good friend and soul brother of mine, who I thank deeply for ushering in this new perspective, made it clear to me with this question:

“Do you want to be a healer, or do you want to heal the world?”

Without his advice, I may never have decided to pursue this music technology degree, which now seems to be an integral part of how I will create the most healing experiences for the most people. I am very grateful.

As it is often said, music is medicine.

I am infinitely grateful for all the help I have received thus far. Thank you all.

In Benevolence,
Devin The Mindful Mage

  • There is a Japanese concept called ‘ikigai’ that is very relevant here, and something I would like to write about in a future post.
  • I will also continue working with people on a private basis, both individually and in group settings. This work is very transformative, and I wish to share it well.
  • If you like this post, I encourage you to leave a comment! I enjoy witnessing other perspectives.

  • It is important to trust your own inner guidance, no matter how challenging any outside perspective may be. You can do it.
